What can I say about last month.
May was probably the craziest month I have had in a very long time.
On the 1st of May Mum and I went into Suncorp Stadium for a fun night at the football. I took a photo just before the game and posted it up on my social media pages. Nothing new there. I do that at every game.
Then Saturday afternoon rolled around and I got a couple of messages and comments. I thought it was a bit weird. then more and more messages came through quickly after so I looked into it a bit more. Turns out Facebook’s MetaAI without took that fun photo and shared it on their platform with some rather disgusting questions to the public about my appearance.
That seemed to give the trolls and the truly nasty people of the world open permission to bully me and mercifully absolutely try to rip tear me to shreds and rip me apart. Messages started rolling in faster and faster. Initially I tried to block and report as many as possible but the disgusting comments were coming through to fast.
After 6hrs I just decided to close the computer and have a drink and try to forget about it.
For just under 30hrs the message www coming in every 10 to 15 seconds. Disgusting obscene comments.
By Sunday afternoon I thought “This is ridiculous.” I needed to take control back somehow.
So I decided to take another close up photo of myself. Not trying to hide my face or anything. just an honest real photo and I wrote a letter to post with the photo trying to address all the trolls and negative people.
The only way I can describe it is it felt like I walked up to a tsunami and stood directly in the path and by sheer force or will turned the the tsunami around and changed the entire narrative into a positive direction.
Because after I posted my reply photo all the negative trolling messages were being over run by all the positive supportive messages. The trolls were getting trolled by the good people then who started digging into as many of the trolls as they could find. It was amazing to see.
Then the media started contacting me. Monday morning rolled around and I had the local state channel 7 news program wanting to come and interview me. Then online newspaper media magazines. radio stations started calling me for interviews and then A Current Affair which is the national news program called asking if I would talk live on their national program.
Since then A Current Affair have asked me to stick with them and they have locked in a few days later in June where we will be doing a much more in-depth interview and they will be following me around for a few days to capture more about my life and my story.
I have also had some amazing opportunities with 4BC Radio station and the ABC Local Brisbane Radio station among many more that I might try to update you all on at a later stage.
The trolls thought they had an easy target that they could pick on and bully. But they had no idea who they were dealing with in the end cos I turned all the negative into something really fun and amazing. Stay tuned for more updates.
