The end of 2019
Well I can’t believe 2020 has already started.
2019 was a mixture of really good times and really bad times. It started out with the disappointment of Toyota cancelling the long term sponsorship of me. After almost 15yrs with Toyota I still believe that the Toyota Management handled it very badly and extremely unprofessionally. But I guess that is how big business operates these days. Which is rather sad when you think about it.
My health also fluctuated a lot. It started off great but unfortunately my skin quickly deteriorated. Which resulted in me having to stop exercising and training in the gym. I am pleased to say I am back in the gym these days. I have had to stop training at my usual full intensity. And there is a good chance I will never be able to lift the crazy super heavy weights again. But I am back in their now still lifting and training as much as I can. Slightly lighter weights is still better than nothing at all.
Work wise, Well 2019 seemed very hard to generate new speaking opportunities. Every year it seems to be getting harder and harder to get my name out there in the business world. I would have hoped it would have become easier as the years unfolded. But the business world and the world in general seems to change the celebrity angles these days. Rather than speakers that have a real impact on their audiences. Hopefully 2020 will be a much better year speaking and work wise though.
One big high for me work wise in 2019 was being made an Official Debra Ambassador. I am absolutely thrilled to be working closely with everyone involved in Debra to try to raise as much awareness as possible for everyone living with Epidermolysis Bullosa.
The year ended on an incredible high for me though.
Actually surviving to turn 40 was a huge achievement for me. Being able to go overseas to celebrate that milestone with my closest family and friends in Ls Vegas. Well that was an absolute dream come true. I could not have asked for a more amazing birthday and a more amazing way in which to celebrate it.
I will leave it there for now. I hope 2020 is an amazing year for everyone.
Once again thank you to everyone for your continued support.
